Between May 9th and 12th, Clark Solutions participated in the Sulphuric Acid 2017, a Conference hosted by The Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM) and sponsored by Clark Solutions and other companies with interest in technology development and global market growth of sulfuric acid industries. This 6th edition was held in Cape Town, South Africa.
The Sulphuric Acid is an important Conference that connects producers from many South African countries with suppliers from different Continents. With dozens of Countries attending, Clark Solutions presented a paper about our technologies and shared our experiences and the Brazilian industry contribution for the advance of the global sulfuric acid industry – by means of case studies and operational safety learned together with our clients during our decades of experience.
With legislation changes to South Africa sulfuric acid industry regulations, new mechanisms for atmospheric emission reports control (NAEIS) and restrictions for water availability within the region, efficient technologies and operational reliability are even more needed. Clark Solutions understands the importance of these progressions and contributes with our clients and colleagues by keeping ourselves as one of the leading Brazilian delegates amidst the sulfuric acid business, being the first Latin American company to participate in this Conference.
At the Sulphuric Acid 2017, Clark Solutions was represented by our Director, Nelson Clark, who presented a work about mist emissions source identification in sulfuric acid plants and shared his experience with our African colleagues who face similar operational difficulties as in Brazil and other Countries. Clark Solutions was also represented by our Process Engineer, Vitor Sturm, who gave a speech on industry cases and practical operational care for a reliable operation, and who was also invited as a Conference Session Chair.

Even with decades of experience, the Sulphuric Acid 2017 brought much learning to Clark Solutions, reminding us the importance of constant knowledge update within industry reality, local or global. Conferences of this impact are important to both new and senior professionals and we hope to constantly contribute in these events.
